WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This two-hour workshop teaches the framework for financial statement analysis. Participants will review the components of a nonprofit’s audited financial statements and receive an introduction to ratio analysis. This is an interactive workshop with a case study affording participants practice calculating liquidity, leverage and profitability ratios. No prior accounting or finance experience required.

MEET THE PRESENTER

Sakinah I. Rahman has over 15 years of public finance experience, including ten years of commercial and investment banking experience. Currently, Sakinah Rahman serves as Vice President in the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation’s Financial Services Group, managing all tax-exempt bond financing transactions.  Sakinah’s career has centered around telling the financial stories of institutions and she frequently lectures on financial statement analysis for private and public colleges and universities. Sakinah is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape and TECH Freire Charter School as well as a member of the Finance Committee of the Board of the African American Museum in Philadelphia. Ms. Rahman earned a B.S. in Finance from Morgan State University and a M.B.A from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
